From medical scientific photography in the operating room to macro photography of birds, plants and animals in the wilds, George Lakis has a lifelong passion and talent for integrating art and technology for aesthetic, corporate and educational purposes.

Lakis began his career photographing and videotaping surgeries in real time for live broadcasts and distance learning. In 1986, Baptist Health System (South Miami Hospital) recruited him to pioneer and educational audio visual departament supporting a 528 bed hospital. His role at Baptist quickly expanded and today Lakis photographers, videographers and IT staff that provides telemedicine, distance learning, teleconferencing, video production, slide shows, website design, audio visual and other related services worldwide.

Born in Athens, Greece, Lakis has an inquisitive nature that has led him to visit more than 80 countries for his photography. His portfolio contains more than a million images, many of which have been presented internationally and grace the hallways, offices, classrooms and auditoriums of hospitals and executive suites. In recent years, Lakis has focused much of his photographic endeavors on capturing a world not often seen with the naked eye extreme close up shots of exotic flowers, aquatic life, equestrian shows and architectural details among a long list of subjects.

Lakis has extensive graduate experience in business administration and industrial engineering as well as a bachelor of fine arts degree from Florida International University. He is an active member of numerous international communications and trade organizations including but not limited to the American and European Telemedicine Associations, Health Care Information and Management System Society, and the Biological Photographic Association. Mr. Lakis has participated at several international and domestic Congresses, hosting live broadcasts of interactive surgical presentations. Additionally, he has presented and written extensively on emerging applications and market trends affecting telemedicine.
